Glitch with elemental dmg
i have a lvl 20 ranger with druids armor. that's 90 AL vs elemental attacks.
i run the desert alot and noticed something funny when running through hydras. i got nail by fireball for 350 DMG!!!! with each hit. i got hit by 3 of them in a row at 350dmg
ran by some of the centaurs and got nail with stone daggers for 100+ dmg with each hit.
also had shocl deal 150 dmg to my ranger. shock usually does about 40 or so dmg.
this is crap. fireball is suppose to do around 60 dmg to a rangers armor NOT 350.
can anyone else confirm this elemental spike dmg that is happening.

in truth i believe it has something to do with the latest patch.
I have noticed a plethera of new bugs/problems with the game after Nov. 10.
Ill try to screen cap a few of em, and let yall know. gotta also let Anet know!

Maybe because monsters avoid AoE, the damage is higher? But Rangers have the highest elemental defense, so that doesn't sound to much right..

It's possible that the monsters don't obey the same rules we do. i.e. they can have a higher than 16 attribute in fire magic. I've been hit by some pretty crazy numbers in the past, but 350 on a ranger sounds too much. Do you have a screenshot? Maybe you're getting hit on a part of your body that's not wearing armor?

we all know that to be true that they go above lvl 16. before the patch hydras fireball did around 60-80 dmg. it still does occasionally now but i have been nailed by these HUGE spikes of the same spell from the same monster.
its glitched iknow it is. stone daggers for instance did 100 dmg with one hit and 30 with the other. now you tell me if that's not glitched i don't know what is.

A warrior in our group mentioned he was dieing much faster from elemental attacks as well, not sure if the patch RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed something up.
I imagine it did though, since it's rare that a patch DOESN'T RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO something up.

i don't know. didn't have a chance to count it.

then back to normal. didn't think much of it till i got hit with stone dagggers.
one hit did about 35 dmg the other did 100 dmg.

if you know anything about programming then you should you know if you change a little you can change alot. it happens when they make tweaks but stuff like this usually is fixed very fast.

Maybe you just have on pre-searing head armor? If not, it's time to make a Flareway team
